Why can a supporter only send about 5,000 rupees the first time?

This one catches nearly every new page.

The first time somebody pays a UPI ID they have never paid before, many apps hold them to a few thousand rupees for the first 24 hours. Around five thousand is the usual figure and it varies by app and by bank.

It is a fraud control their app applies. It has nothing to do with your page, your account or Kulhad.

Why it lands here more than elsewhere

Your page is full of people paying you for the first time. That is the whole point of it, and it is exactly the case the cap exists for.

What it looks like

Their app refuses the payment and says something about a limit, or about a new payee, or gives a number with no explanation attached. It usually happens after they have already confirmed, which is why it feels like your page broke.

What to tell them

Two options, both fine.

  • Send a smaller amount now. It goes through.
  • Send the full amount tomorrow. After 24 hours the cap is gone and the account is no longer new to them.

Either way nothing is stuck and nothing has been taken.

What your page already does

The pay card warns before a large payment for exactly this reason, so most people are told before they get as far as their bank app.

The other limits

Once past the first payment, most apps allow up to one lakh a day across everything somebody pays. Your page caps a single support at one lakh, which is the same ceiling.
