Create a UPI Payment Link for WhatsApp
Build a upi:// link and send it wherever you like.
This runs in your browser. Nothing you type leaves this page.
Add a UPI ID to see your QR code.
What this does
It builds a upi:// link, which is the address a UPI app opens when someone taps it. Paste it into WhatsApp, a bio, or an email, and the payer lands in their own app with your details already filled in.
How to use it
- 1
Type the UPI ID the money should reach.
- 2
Add a name, an amount and a note if you want them filled in for the payer.
- 3
Copy the link, or send it straight to WhatsApp.

You get: a upi:// link and a ready WhatsApp message.
When this is useful
Use it when the person is on a phone and a QR is awkward, which is most of the time in a chat. They tap the link, their own UPI app opens with your details already in it, and they only have to confirm.
Questions
What is a upi:// link?
It is the address a UPI app opens when someone taps it. Every UPI app on the phone understands it, so the payer is not forced into a particular one.
Will it work on a computer?
No. Desktop browsers cannot open a upi:// link, so use the QR code for anyone sitting at a computer.
Where do I put the link?
Anywhere text goes: a WhatsApp message, a bio, the end of an invoice, a button on your own site. Use the WhatsApp button above and it opens a message with the link already in it. For a bio, a page address is better: it works on a desktop too, and it can carry your name and a wall of thank-yous, which a bare link cannot.
What is the difference between UPI Collect and UPI Intent?
A collect request pulls money from the payer once they approve it. An intent link, which is what this makes, opens their own app with your details filled in and they push the money. Collect is being retired, partly because it was the shape almost every UPI scam took: a request that says receive and is actually a payment. Nothing can be pulled from anyone through a link like this.
Can I make a payment link for personal use, not a business?
Yes. This is not a merchant tool and there is nothing to register. It builds a link from a personal UPI ID exactly as it would from any other, and no one is checking which you have.
Can I make a link from a bank account number?
No. A payment link needs a UPI ID. If you do not have one, your bank app makes it in a minute or two and often already has. An account number and IFSC will not build a link that opens in a UPI app.
Is this a Google Pay link or a PhonePe link?
Neither, and that is the point. The link is app-neutral, so the payer opens whichever UPI app they already use. You do not have to know which one that is, and they do not have to install anything new.
Can I put a fixed amount in it?
Yes, and you can leave it out. Filled in, the payer sees that amount already there. Left blank, they type whatever they want, which is usually what you want when you are being thanked rather than invoiced.
