Terms
This is the English version of the Kulhad terms, and it is the version that applies. Translations are for convenience.
1. About these terms
1.1 Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and Kulhad, the service at kulhad.co. In them, "we", "us" and "our" mean Kulhad, and "you" means the person reading them.
1.2 Accepting them
You accept these terms when you create a page, when you send support through a page somebody else created, or when you buy Kulhad Premium. If you are using Kulhad for an organisation, you are confirming that you may accept these terms on its behalf.
If you do not accept them, do not use Kulhad.
1.3 The words we use
- Creator. Somebody who has a page on Kulhad.
- Supporter. Somebody who sends money to a creator.
- Page. A creator's public address on Kulhad, at kulhad.co and, on Premium, at a domain the creator owns.
- Support. One payment a supporter says they have sent to a creator, and the record of it on Kulhad.
- Premium. A paid subscription a creator buys from us.
- Reference code. The four characters Kulhad puts in the payment note so a creator can tell one support from another.
2. What Kulhad is, and what it is not
2.1 A page, a link and a QR code
Kulhad gives a creator a page carrying their name, what they do, the UPI ID they want to be paid at, and the messages supporters leave. It builds the UPI link and the QR code that open a supporter's own banking app with the creator's UPI ID filled in. It keeps a record of what supporters said they sent and what the creator said back.
That is the whole service.
2.2 Kulhad is not a payment service
We do not collect, hold, route, convert or return money. There is no wallet, no balance and no account with us that money sits in.
A payment goes from the supporter's bank to the creator's bank over UPI. We are not a party to it. We cannot see either account, we receive no notification from any bank, and we have no way of finding out whether a payment happened. Nothing on Kulhad is a statement by us that money moved.
Because we are not in the payment, we cannot stop, reverse, refund or trace one. If money went to the wrong place, that is a matter for your own bank, and the sooner you tell them the better.
2.3 What the reference code does, and does not
The reference code is a matching aid. It goes into the payment note so that a creator looking at their own bank can tell two similar payments apart.
It is not a receipt, not a transaction number and not proof of anything. Banks differ in whether they carry a payment note through to a statement, and most UPI apps let the payer edit or clear the note before paying. A support with no usable code is normal, and a creator matches it by amount and time instead.
The code is also what authorises a supporter to mark their own support as sent. Keep it until the support has been dealt with.
3. Your account
3.1 Signing in
You sign in with Google, or with a six digit code we email to you. There is no password to choose and none for you to lose.
3.2 Keeping your account secure
Anybody who can read your email can sign in as you. Keeping that address secure is your responsibility. Tell us at hello@kulhad.co if you think somebody else has reached your account.
3.3 One account, two uses
Sending support needs no account at all. If you do sign in, the same account can hold a page and can show you a private list of what you have sent to other creators. Whether you use one side, the other or both is up to you.
4. Creator pages
4.1 Your page name
Your page name is the last part of your address. Some names are reserved because they collide with parts of the site or would be mistaken for us. We may reclaim a name that impersonates somebody, infringes a trade mark, or was registered to prevent somebody else from using it.
4.2 The UPI ID you publish
The UPI ID on your page is yours to get right. We do not check that it exists, that it works, or that it belongs to you, and we have no way to. Send yourself one rupee and watch it arrive before you give the page to anybody.
If you publish somebody else's UPI ID, or one you are not entitled to be paid at, that is your act and not ours.
4.3 What you are responsible for
As a creator you are responsible for what your page says, for anything you promise a supporter, for whether you deliver it, and for handling anybody who tells you a payment went wrong. If you are raising money for a purpose, that purpose has to be lawful and described honestly.
4.4 Tax and your own records
Money supporters send you is yours, and what you owe on it is between you and the tax authorities. We do not deduct anything, we do not issue tax documents for it, and we are not your accountant. Your page and your export are a record of what people told us they sent, not a financial statement.
5. Supporting a creator
5.1 How a payment happens
You choose an amount, optionally leave a name and a message, and Kulhad opens your own banking app with the creator's UPI ID and that amount filled in. You pay from your app, exactly as you would pay anyone else. We are not in that step and we never see your card, bank or UPI credentials.
5.2 Marking a payment as sent
Pressing "I've paid" tells the creator that you say you have sent it. It records what you said. It does not tell us, or them, that any money moved.
5.3 Approval is the creator's decision
The creator looks in their own bank and decides. Approving publishes your support on their page. Rejecting means they did not find it. Both are bookkeeping: they move nothing and neither one is us confirming anything.
A creator may also approve a support without showing it publicly, or hide one later.
5.4 If something goes wrong
If you paid and the creator says they did not receive it, the two of you have better evidence than we do. You have your bank's record of the payment; they have theirs. We can see neither.
We cannot recover, refund or redirect a payment, because it never came to us. If you believe you have been defrauded, raise it with your bank, and with the police if it warrants that. You can also report the page to us under section 8.
6. Content
6.1 Content you publish
You keep ownership of everything you put on Kulhad: your name, your text, your images, your audio and video, and, if you are a supporter, your message and any recording you leave.
You are confirming that you have the right to publish it and that doing so breaks no law and nobody else's rights.
6.2 The licence you give us
So that we can actually show your content, you give us a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free licence to store, copy, resize, reformat and display it, only as far as running, securing and improving your page requires. The licence ends when you remove the content or delete your account, except for copies in backups until those age out.
6.3 Names, messages and recordings
A supporter's name, message and voice recording belong to that supporter. A creator may publish them, hide them, reject them or reply to them. A creator may not edit them, and we do not let them: a message is published as written or not at all.
A voice recording stays private to the creator until the creator approves it.
6.4 Content we may remove
We may remove content, restrict a page or end an account where we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with the law, respond to a valid legal request, enforce section 7, or protect somebody from harm. We will act proportionately, and where it is sensible to do so we will tell you.
7. Things you must not do
Do not use Kulhad to:
- pretend to be somebody else, or suggest a connection with a person or organisation that does not exist
- mislead people about who you are, what you are collecting for, or what they will get
- collect money for anything unlawful, or in breach of a court order or a sanctions regime
- publish anything unlawful, or anything that is obscene, defamatory, or invades somebody's privacy
- publish material that harms a child in any way
- infringe anybody's copyright, trade mark or other rights
- harass, threaten or abuse anybody, whether through a page, a message or a recording
- publish somebody else's personal information without a right to
- upload malware, or anything designed to damage or interfere with a computer
- interfere with the service, get around its limits, or try to reach parts of it you have not been given access to
- collect data from Kulhad by automated means beyond what a page openly offers
- resell or repackage Kulhad as your own service
This list is not exhaustive, and something being absent from it does not make it acceptable.
8. Reporting a page, and how we respond
Every page carries a link to report it. You do not need an account to use it and we do not ask who you are. Reports reach a queue that a person reads.
We do not take a page down because it has been reported a certain number of times. An automatic threshold is a tool for whoever can organise the most reports, so a person looks at every one and decides.
You can also write to hello@kulhad.co. Tell us the page, what is wrong, and anything that helps us see it.
9. Intellectual property complaints
If something on Kulhad infringes your copyright or trade mark, write to hello@kulhad.co with:
- what the work is, and enough detail to identify it
- the address of the page or the content you say infringes it
- your name and contact details
- a statement that you own the right, or are authorised to act for whoever does
- a statement that what you have told us is accurate
We may remove or restrict the content while we look at it, and we will tell the creator what we received. If you are the creator and you believe a complaint is wrong, reply to us and say why.
10. Kulhad Premium
10.1 What Premium is
Premium is a subscription a creator buys from us. It changes what a page can do. It has no effect at all on money supporters send, on what a creator receives, or on what we take from it, which is nothing on any plan.
10.2 Price and billing period
The price and the billing period are shown at checkout before you pay. Prices may change; a change applies from your next renewal and never to a period you have already paid for.
Payment is taken by a payment provider, not by us. Which provider handles your subscription depends on how you pay, and their own terms apply to that transaction. We do not store your card, bank or mandate details.
10.3 Renewal
Premium renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel.
10.4 Failed payments and the grace period
If a renewal fails, Premium keeps working for a short grace period while the provider retries. If it still has not gone through by the end of that period, your page returns to the free plan under section 11.2.
11. Cancellation and refunds
11.1 Cancelling
You can cancel from the dashboard at any time, in one step. Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not end the period you have already paid for.
11.2 What happens to your page
At the end of the paid period your page returns to the free plan. Nothing is deleted. Extra UPI IDs and extra goals are switched off rather than removed, a custom domain stops serving and your page is reachable at its kulhad.co address again, and page themes, your own search listing, your own analytics ID and the hidden badge revert. Subscribing again brings your own settings back.
Your supporters, your messages and your history are not part of Premium and are never affected by it.
11.3 Refunds
We do not refund part of a period. When you cancel, you keep everything you paid for until that period ends, so there is nothing unused to return.
If you subscribed for the first time and change your mind within seven days of that first payment, write to hello@kulhad.co and we will normally refund it. This is something we choose to do rather than something you can require, it applies to a first subscription and not to a renewal, and it does not affect any right you have under consumer law.
11.4 How long a refund takes
Where we do refund, we start it within three working days of agreeing to. It reaches you through the same method you paid with, which usually takes a further five to seven working days depending on your bank.
12. Custom domains
On Premium you can serve your page at a domain you own. You point the domain at us and we obtain and renew a certificate for it and serve your page.
The domain stays yours. We do not register, renew or acquire it, and if it lapses or you change where it points, your page stops being reachable there. We cannot make a domain work: we can only tell you what the internet's records currently say about it. If your subscription ends, the domain stops serving and your page is at its kulhad.co address again, so be careful about printing a domain on anything permanent.
13. Buttons, embeds and overlays on other sites
You may put a Kulhad button, pay card, goal bar or streaming overlay on a site or stream you control. You may not alter them so they misrepresent what they do or where the money goes, present them as somebody else's, or place them where they would deceive somebody about what they are about to click.
They load from us, which means we see requests from wherever you put them, and they may change as we change the service. If your site has its own obligations to its visitors, meeting them is your job and not ours.
14. Connected apps
You can connect a third party application, including an AI assistant, to your Kulhad account. Before anything is connected we show you which app is asking, what it will be able to do, and where it will send you back to. Nothing is connected until you approve that screen, and you can disconnect it at any time, after which it stops working.
Things worth understanding before you connect one:
- The app can do what you approved, and you are responsible for what it does with that access, exactly as if you had done it yourself.
- Data it reads leaves Kulhad and is then subject to that app's terms and privacy policy, not ours.
- We never give a connected app your supporters' email addresses or the hashes we keep of their IP addresses.
- No connected app can move money, buy or cancel Premium, or create an account.
15. Suspension and ending an account
15.1 Deleting your own account
You can delete your account yourself from Settings. It is not reversible. Take your export first, and if you are on Premium, cancel before you delete: deleting your page does not by itself end a subscription with a payment provider.
15.2 When we may suspend or end an account
We may suspend or end an account where we reasonably believe it has seriously or repeatedly broken these terms, where the law or a valid legal order requires it, or where leaving it up would put somebody at risk. If you think we have got it wrong, write to hello@kulhad.co and a person will look again.
16. Changes to Kulhad and to these terms
We change the service as we build it. Features arrive, change and occasionally go. We may also suspend parts of it for maintenance or for security.
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page changes when we do. If a change materially affects you, we will make it visible in the product or tell you by email where that is appropriate. Continuing to use Kulhad after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
17. Disclaimers
Kulhad is provided as it is and as it is available. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, including any that the service will be uninterrupted, error free or fit for a purpose you have in mind.
We are specifically not responsible for banks, UPI, or any payment app; for whether a payment succeeds, arrives or is matched to the right support; for what a creator does with money they receive; for what a supporter or a creator writes; or for anything a domain registrar, a payment provider or a connected app does.
18. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of income, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss.
Our total liability to you for everything arising out of or relating to Kulhad is limited to the amount you paid us for Premium in the twelve months before the event that gave rise to the claim. If you have not paid us anything, we have taken no fee from you, and our liability is limited accordingly.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud.
19. Indemnity
If somebody brings a claim against us because of what you published, what you collected money for, or how you used Kulhad in breach of these terms, you will cover our reasonable costs and any amount we have to pay because of it. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and will not settle it without asking you.
20. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim somewhere else.
21. How to reach us
Write to hello@kulhad.co. That address reaches us for support, for legal notices, for reports and for complaints, and it is the address to use for anything in these terms that says to write to us.
22. General terms
- If one part fails. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
- Delay is not waiver. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
- Transferring. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without asking us. We may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation or a sale of the business, and your rights are unaffected.
- The whole agreement. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about Kulhad.
- What survives. Sections 6.2, 17, 18, 19, 20 and this section continue to apply after your account ends.
