How to connect your own domain

With Premium you can serve your page at an address you own, like support.yoursite.in. Your page then lives at the root of that domain rather than at kulhad.co with your name after it.

What you need

A domain you already own, and access to wherever its DNS records are managed. That is usually your registrar: GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, BigRock.

The steps

  1. Open Settings, then Domain. Type the address you want to use, and save.
  2. Kulhad shows you the record to add. For a subdomain it is a CNAME:

CNAME support domains.kulhad.co

  1. Add that record at your registrar. If you are using the bare domain rather than a subdomain, use an A record to the same address instead. Some registrars call that ALIAS or ANAME.
  2. Come back and press Check. Kulhad looks the record up.
  3. When it finds it, the domain goes active. The first visit to it gets a certificate issued automatically, which takes a few seconds.

While you wait

DNS is not instant. A few minutes is normal and an hour is not unusual. Press Check again rather than changing anything.

Your kulhad.co address keeps working the whole time and keeps working afterwards.

What follows the domain

Once it is live, your QR codes, print sheets, share cards and embed snippets all carry the new address. So does the address search engines are told to use. You do not have to reprint anything, but anything you print from then on is right.

Receipts stay on kulhad.co on purpose, so a supporter's link keeps working whatever happens to your DNS.
